Meet Achillies
In 2021, we were thrilled to welcome Achilles into our collection after acquiring him from a Facebook user who was downsizing. We were specifically seeking a GHI due to its striking dark contrast, and Achilles fit the bill perfectly.
Achilles had been raised in a rack system, and despite our attempts to transition him to a bioactive enclosure, he continues to feel insecure and struggled in the open, larger environment. Since our home does not utilize rack systems for our ball pythons, we decided to invest in a more tailored PVC enclosure. This new set up blocks his view from three sides and offers additional hiding spots to help him feel more secure and less exposed.
While Achilles enjoys occasionally being held, he generally prefers to have his own space and undisturbed. He has proven to be a successful breeder and was recently paired with our Albino ball python, Xena, who laid 17 eggs on March 8th, 2024.
